Steven Zhang, Editor-in-Chief

My name is Steven Zhang, and I am one of the current Editors-in-Chief of The Papyrus. I am a senior in the Class of 2026, and I am from Hong Kong.

Before taking on the role of Editor-in-Chief, I joined The Papyrus as a staff writer during my Upper Mid year, where I covered a range of topics including news, campus life, and reviews of art performances. Since my Mid year, I have also served as the co-Editor-in-Chief of the Global Journal, Taft’s student-led political magazine. Outside of my responsibilities with The Papyrus, I am a School Monitor, a dorm monitor, a co-head of the Pan-Asian Affinity Group, and a member of the Boys’ Varsity Tennis team. I’m also involved in the arts, serving as the concertmaster of the Chamber Ensemble and the co-head of Oriocos, Taft’s male a cappella group. In my free time, I enjoy playing the violin, playing tennis, and hanging out in the Jig.
